Mount Bromo Reaches Tens of Thousands During Long Holiday

The number of tourist visits to Mount Bromo reached 17,733 people during the long holiday commemorating the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday on September 5-7, 2025. This was announced by the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) Office.

“The total number of tourist visits to Bromo from September 5 until yesterday was 17,733,” said Endrip Wahyutama, Public Relations Officer of the TNBTS Office, in a statement on Monday (September 8, 2025).

According to data received from the TNBTS Office, on September 5, the day of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday holiday, the number of tourist visits to the tourist area was 5,174. These included 5,052 Indonesian citizens (WNI) or domestic tourists and 121 foreign nationals (WNA) or international travelers.

The management also recorded a total of 2,135 vehicles entering the area. This number consisted of 1,309 four-wheeled vehicles and 826 two-wheeled vehicles.

Furthermore, on September 6, 6,958 tourists visited Mount Bromo, comprising 6,842 Indonesian citizens and 116 foreign nationals. Furthermore, 2,896 vehicles were recorded as entering, comprising 1,628 four-wheeled vehicles and 1,268 two-wheeled vehicles.

Furthermore, on September 7, 5,601 tourists were recorded as visiting Mount Bromo. This figure consisted of 5,461 domestic tourists and 140 foreign tourists.

Meanwhile, 1,157 four-wheeled vehicles entered, while 1,252 two-wheeled vehicles were allowed. “The sunrise quota is 2,752 tourists. If the quota runs out after sunrise or after 7:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, it can be increased gradually depending on the needs or the number of visitors,” he said.

According to Government Regulation Number 36 of 2024, the entrance fee to the Mount Bromo tourist area for domestic tourists is IDR 54,000 per person per day on weekdays and IDR 79,000 per person per day on holidays. For foreign tourists, the ticket price is IDR 255,000 per person per day on both weekdays and holidays.

According to the applicable regulations, the entrance fee includes insurance of IDR 4,000 for domestic tourists and IDR 5,000 for foreign tourists. The fee for two-wheeled vehicles is IDR 5,000 per person per day, and for four-wheeled vehicles it is IDR 10,000 per vehicle per day.
